  • MAGIC: THE GATHERING CLUB NIGHT - by Xtremetrades

  • As we continue our efforts to grow the Magic community we would like to announce our Weekly Magic: the Gathering Club. Every Wednesday from 7pm we will be open for any and all Magic players to come along, sling spells and do battle. It's a great way to meet players, get involved in the community and trade for the cards that will really improve your deck. The club is open to players of all levels, whether you're just starting out or you're looking for regular testing for events.

    In addition to the club night we will run an event for those of you who are looking for some extra competition. We aim to start the tournament by 7:45pm. Anyone on a winning record will receive minimum of 1 booster. New players will receive their first constructed event free*. The weekly tournament will alternate between Standard and Draft. Every month we will have standings for that month with the top player earning themselves 5 X-League points**.     Club Details

    Location: Xtremetrades Gaming Centre, Unit E2, Seedbed Centre, Wyncolls Road, Colchester, Essex, CO4 9HT. Directions to the store can be found here.
    Doors Open: 7:00pm
    Tournament Starts: 7:45pm
    End Time: around 10:30pm
    Entry: FREE (£4.50 for Constructed tournament/£11.00 for Draft tournament)

    Prizes: - For the weekly tournament prizes will be: 9 points - 4 boosters, 7-6 points - 1 booster. Additionally for each full 8 players the highest placed player on 6-7 points will receive an additional booster, so less than 8 there are no additional boosters, 8-15 a booster will be given to the highest placed player on 6-7 points, 16-23 a booster will be given to the 2 highest placed players on 6-7 points and so on.

    *Free Event - The free event can be taken at any time after obtaining a DCI number. It allows entry into 1 Wednesday Night Magic or Friday Night Magic (Starts February 3rd).
    **X-League - This is our yearly competition concluding with a player of the year and an end of year event.
